A Taste of Tradition with Every Bite

Our Journey 🥯

Our Journey 🥯

At Helfeld's, we’re more than just a restaurant—we’re a piece of family history. Our story begins back in the 1980s, when my grandfather moved from Poland to Chicago and opened a Jewish deli on the North Side. His love for great food and his deep connection to family inspired us to open Helfeld's in the heart of Wicker Park, continuing the legacy he started. We named our deli after him to honor his life and the journey of our family.

Helfeld’s isn’t just a business; it’s a family affair. We’re proud to serve you dishes that come straight from our kitchen—where family recipes have been passed down for decades. From our homemade soups to our freshly baked bagels, everything is made with the same attention to detail and quality that my mom and grandparents put into their cooking.

Why Visit Helfeld’s Delicatessen? 🥪
Our menu brings the flavors of a classic New York-style Jewish deli to Chicago. At Helfeld's, you’ll find all the staples—hand-cut lox & bagels, comforting chicken matzo ball soup, homemade knishes, and noodle kugel. Our mouthwatering sandwiches and wraps are made with recipes passed down through generations. We believe in making every meal just like my grandparents did, with love and care.
